Finally Pushed the Button

Added on by Jim Frankenberger.

After five years shooting with Quadrant I am again hanging out my shingle. I am an associate of Quadrant and will report for duty when needed but you will find me working from my home office and again working as a freelance photographer.

I have also finally updated my website, so much has changed these past six years. I still have a few things to work out and if you frequent the main page you will notice those changes as they happen. Now if I can find some blinking, noise making, pardon my dust  web animations I would be set.

Wish me luck. Better yet send me some work.

Lightroom 4

Added on by Jim Frankenberger.

After living in Capture One and Photoshop as my production tools the last six years, I recently looked at Lightroom again and I'm impressed. As a production tool its fast and easy to use once you get beyond which pallet your in and which one you need to be using.

One of my litmus test is black and white. I have a black and white process I love to use but it will only work with Photoshop. As someone who was trained in wet-process black and white I bring a few things for printing that I can still do via Photoshop. Lightroom is again offering me some useful black and white presets beyond the ugly green or red filter presets. Skin tones are my reference point and I'm happy with what Lightroom has brought to my production table.

Still together, a majority.

Added on by Jim Frankenberger.

I started this project, clearing out the storage of past weddings in 2010 with my oldest film weddings as those take up the most space. There are some clients I've been unable to locate and many that I have found and talked with. What is most awe-inspiring are the large number of couples that are still together in a world where only 50% should be together and  my client list at over 90% are still together today. There are a few weddings I've not been able to contact but at this point these few weddings can not change the stats very much.

Props to you all.

Prior Wedding Clients

Past clients should contact me about negatives, proofs or digital files. I am very attached to all the images we have created and my hopes are to allow you even more enjoyment of what we made together.

As I clear out the past and make room for the future I hope to rediscover some images that have remained remembered but hidden. My weddings date back to 1985 and I wish to contact each of you. I need to confirm that you do or do not want your wedding negatives or CDs. I would love to get and update on your lives since I had the pleasure of photographing your wedding.

Many of you recommend me to your friends and I ask that you do the same again with the sharing of this page.

Thanks for the memories,

Jim
